MIC Khulisani Ventures Applications

Detailed Overview

MIC Khulisani Ventures is Mineworkers Investment Company’s early-stage investment vehicle, providing capital for businesses that are ready to aggressively expand and grow their market footprint.

The client required an online portal that would allow businesses to submit funding applications for the MIC Khulisani Ventures Fund, valued at R150 million. The platform needed to handle high-volume submissions, sensitive company data, and a structured review process.

Tati Software partnered with MIC and other stakeholders to scope, build, deploy and maintain the web application for the full duration of the funding programme.

Application Capabilities

The solution delivers the core capabilities needed to run a national investment application programme:

  • Secure user registration, login and “forgot password” authentication system.
  • CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) functionality across multiple application data tables.
  • Admin dashboard for the MIC team to review, filter, and manage applications.
  • In-app email capabilities, sending applicants automated emails at key stages of the application process.

Web Application Features

The following main features were implemented as part of the MIC Khulisani Ventures portal:

  1. Applicant accounts – Users can create profiles, log in and log out with progress saved, and upload supporting documents as required by the fund.
  2. Investment team portal – MIC administrators can download applications, review them, and access analytics that highlight demographics, industry types, and other relevant variables of the companies applying.
  3. Status tracking – Each application moves through clearly defined stages, giving both applicants and administrators visibility of progress.
  4. Secure data handling – Sensitive company information is stored and accessed according to best-practice security standards.
